Over the last few weeks, we’ve been busy behind the scenes giving our Lily Pad cottages a fresh new look, and we’re pleased to share more about the recent transformation of No.2 The Lily Pad. Alongside No.1 next door, this cottage has been part of a focused refresh designed to enhance comfort, style and functionality for every guest who stays with us.

The renovation work across No.1 and No.2 The Lily Pad took just under three weeks to complete, with careful planning to ensure every update genuinely improves the guest experience. From practical upgrades to comfort-focused details, each change was chosen with real stays in mind — not just how the cottage looks, but how it feels to live in during your time away.

In No.2 The Lily Pad, the kitchen has been updated to make it easier and more enjoyable to use. We’ve installed new work surfaces, along with replacement cupboard doors and drawers, all finished with soft-close fittings for a neat, high-quality feel. A new fridge, updated sink and extractor have also been added.

To complete the refresh, the kitchen has been fully restocked with brand-new cookware, plates, cups and glasses, so everything is fresh, modern and ready to use from the moment you arrive.

Elsewhere in the cottage, we’ve focused on creating calm, comfortable spaces to relax. You’ll now find new sofas, new mattresses, refreshed bedding, and soft new towels throughout. The bedrooms and staircase have been fitted with new carpets, adding both warmth and a sense of luxury underfoot, while new bedside tables and lamps bring practical touches for a more restful stay.

The finishing touches — and what’s next

New lighting, wall décor, artwork and blinds complete the transformation, subtly lifting each room while retaining The Lily Pad’s welcoming character.

And we’re not stopping here — No.4 is next in line to receive the same facelift treatment, with updates planned very soon. We’ll be sharing more as work progresses, so keep an eye on the blog.
