Well – as the sunshine continues to beat down on us and everyones clutching an ice cream cone, we thought it might be useful today to talk about a very popular part of the offering here at the Lily Pad – especially in hot weather – the swimming pool! 

While a lot of self catering accommodation can often be fairly standard and same-y, we’ve taken advantage of the space we have here at the Lily Pad to try and add on all kinds of additional areas for our guests to relax and enjoy while they stay with us. 

The most obvious one of these added extras is our swimming pool. Providing the perfect place to cool down on a summers afternoon after a day exploring the Nene Valley, the pool is always especially popular with our younger visitors – although often the older folks are just as keen to jump in! 

To provide even more options to our guests who might not be in the mood for a splash and swim, the rest of the pool area is equipped with a range of games and activities for everyone to enjoy – from the table tennis table (where we’ve seen many a hotly contested point played out over the years!) to table football and ball games – or even just relaxing in the sofas watching a little TV. 

Just outside the pool area, we also have a beautifully appointed deck area with dining tables, benches, a gas powered BBQ for our guests to make the most of and as of a week or so ago – a pizza oven for creating tasty homemade pizzas in. 

Once folks have had a swim and some dinner, this deck area also makes a lovely place to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine. 

Looking ahead to next year, the next big development on the horizon is the opening of our new art studio on the property which we are very excited about, but – shhh! It’s all still very early days on that project just yet!
